Last night, two of the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league affiliates were in action. Who were the top prospects from the games?

Triple-A Indianapolis Indians

The Pittsburgh Pirates Triple-A club got smoked last night by the Toledo Mud Hens by a score of 13-3.  The Indians are now 2-2 on the season.  While the Triple-A team only scored three runs, they were able to swat nine hits across the game.  The top two performers from the game were utility prospect Christopher Bostick and top infield prospect Kevin Kramer (ranks number seven at Rum Bunter).

Bostick, who is now in his second season with the organization, had three hits in four at-bats last night.  He had a double and scored one run.  The utility player is now hitting .500 on the season, and he actually started in centerfield last night.  Kramer, the Pittsburgh Pirates second round pick in 2015, had two hits in four plate appearances.  The second base prospect had one run batted in and struck out once.  He is now batting .294 this season.

High-A Bradenton Marauders

The Pittsburgh Pirates High-A affiliate is the Bradenton Marauders, who played against the Lakeland Flying Tigers of the Detroit Tigers organization.  The Marauders won the game by a score of 7-3.  They now have four wins on the season and only one loss.  The standout hitters for the Marauders were Bligh Madris and Lucas Tancas.

Madris had two hits in four at-bats last night.  One of his hits came in the form of a two run home run.  Also, he had a two out hit that produced two more runs batted in. All in all, he accounted for four of the teams seven total runs. The 2017 ninth round draft pick is hitting .350 on the season.  Lucas Tancas was also a 2017 draft pick, albeit a 26th round draft pick.  The first baseman produced two hits against Lakeland.  He did not have any runs batted in or runs scored, but is now hitting .467 on the season. These players bat third and fifth in the Bradenton lineup, so they should have plenty of chances to produce this season.
