Injuries suck

There are a lot of great things about sports. One of the things that is not great, though, are injuries. Right now, injuries are running rampant over the Pittsburgh Pirates 25-man roster.

While the team got reliever Kyle Crick and catcher Elias Diaz back from the injured list this past week, the team is still dealing with a plethora of injuries. Dickerson, Polanco, Kevin Newman, and Chisenhall all remain on the injured list. Over the weekend, Jacob Stallings, Gonzalez, and Marte all joined them on the IL.

Additionally, starting second baseman Adam Frazier is dealing with back spams. Due to this, he did not start any of the three games against the Giants. He was able to pinch hit on Sunday, though.

Thankfully, these injuries have not hurt the Pirates much yet. Despite all of the injuries, the Bucs 12-7 record puts them in first place in the National League Central division. The fact the team is in first place despite these injuries should give fans plenty of optimism about the direction in which the season is trending. As they get healthy, the Pirates are going to get much better without having to make any trades.

Sports injuries are dumb and bad. No one deserves to get injured, and injuries hurt a player’s team as well. Hopefully, the Pirates will get back to full strength soon.
