After a rough start to the series, the Pittsburgh Pirates rallied to blowout the Colorado Rockies in the finale of their three-game series.

Entering play on Tuesday night, the Pittsburgh Pirates were getting ready to kick off a six-game homestand. On the heels of a 7-4 road trip, the Pirates were looking to continue their hot play. While the series as a whole did not go as the team had hoped, they did finish it on a high note.

Following blowout losses in each of the first two games of the series, the Pirates bounced back to put a 14-6 beat down on the Rockies in Wednesday afternoon’s series finale. The 8-run victory was the largest margin of victory for the Pirates this season, and improved the team to 25-22 overall.

With the series loss, the Pirates are now 8-6-2 in 16 series played this season. However, as we will get into later, they have not done well in series at home or against the NL West.

Next up for the Bucs is a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The team will be looking to get some revenge on the Dodgers after they were swept in LA last month. But before turning our attention to the Dodgers, let’s take a look at the key takeaways from their series loss against the Rockies.
