To the readers of ours that celebrate we wish you and your family and very Merry Christmas. Here’s to a fun 2020 season for our beloved Pittsburgh Pirates!

It is Christmas morning. With that, all of us here at Rum Bunter are wishing our devoted fans and readers that celebrate the holiday a very Merry Christmas! We hope you all have a fun, safe and blessed holiday with your loved ones.

As those of us who are fans of the Pittsburgh Pirates prepare to celebrate the holidays, we have already received some great gifts this year. These gifts all started when the Pirates kicked off their front office and coaching staff overhaul.

In moves that were very needed, and arguably overdue, manager Clint Hurdle and general manager Neal Huntington were let go. So was team president Frank Coonelly. Strong hires were then made with Travis Williams being named the new team president, Ben Cherington the GM and Derek Shelton the team’s new manager.

Rising star Steve Sanders was named Cherington’s assistant GM and Shelton has made multiple strong hires, too. By all accounts bench coach Don Kelly, pitching coach Oscar Marin and catching coordinator Glenn Sherlock were all great hires as well.
