Russell Martin

Martin was an integral part in the Pirates 2013 success. He spent two seasons with the team and signed with the Blue Jays as a free agent before the 2015 season. He spent four seasons in Toronto and later signed with the Dodgers in 2019. He is currently a free agent.

Gaby Sanchez/Garrett Jones

Sanchez played 113 games at first base in 2013 and the former All-Star hasn’t been able to get back on a Major League field since 2014. Garrett Jones played five seasons in Pittsburgh and later played for the Marlins and Yankees. He has since retired.

Neil Walker

Walker is the hometown kid and many in Pittsburgh were hoping he would be brought back this off-season, but he recently has signed a minor league deal with the Phillies.

Pedro Alvarez

Alvarez had an up and down career with the Pirates. He was a Silver Slugger Award winner and an All-Star in 2013 and played with the Bucs until 2015 when he later signed with the Orioles and played there for three seasons, bouncing back and forth between Triple-A and the Majors. He is a current free agent and hasn’t played since 2018.

Clint Barmes/Jordy Mercer/Josh Harrison

Barmes retired after the 2015 season with the Padres. He played 300 games with the Bucs. Mercer signed with the Tigers following the 2018 season, where he currently still plays. J-Hay also spent the 2019 season with the Tigers and he is currently signed to a minor league deal with the Phillies for the 2020 season.
