With Pittsburgh Pirates pitchers and catchers set to hold their first workout of Spring Training on Wednesday, let’s take our first stab at predicting the team’s Opening Day roster.

Wednesday morning will see Pirate pitchers and catchers hold their first workout of the spring. With this, the road to Opening Day will officially be underway. That then raises the question, what will the Pirates Opening Day roster look like?

This will be the first Pirate Opening Day roster prediction that will be done here at Rum Bunter. This prediction will be revisited halfway through Spring Training and again entering the final week of the spring.

Also, remember that the active roster for MLB teams now has 26 players on them. This is a change from previous years when rosters were capped at 25 active players. All of that said, let’s dive into the Pirate Opening Day roster prediction pre-Spring Training edition.
