Only two weeks away from the return of Major League Baseball, Rum Bunter Radio is back for episode six. Marty, Nick and Trey continue the on-going conversation about the threats of Covid-19 on baseball’s return, and what needs to happen for a proper “Opening Day” for the Pittsburgh Pirates and the rest of MLB.

League testing has received mixed reviews, and as more players begin to test positive the entire landscape changes. Blake Cederlind and Socrates Brito are the only two Pirates to have tested positive, leaving roster spots up for the taking.

Not only has the virus temporarily removed two names from Pittsburgh’s clubhouse, but as reported by Derek Shelton on Wednesday, hard throwing righty closer Keona Kela has not yet reported to Spring Training 2.0. If Kela continues to ice out the Buccos the most important bullpen role opens up.
