Another week of Pittsburgh Pirates baseball, another clinic put on by Ke’Bryan Hayes.

The Pittsburgh Pirates welcomed the red hot Chicago White Sox to town for a two-game set this week with off days on either side. In game one the Buccos picked up the victory after a dominant performance from Joe Musgrove and late inning offense, sparked by a Ke’Bryan Hayes triple. Hosts Marty, Nick and Trey recap the victory and give their takeaways from Big Joe’s stellar performance.

This was only the second Pittsburgh Pirates victory against the AL Central this season, leading into the greatly anticipated Roberto Clemente festivities planned for Wednesday. Each of the players and coaches on roster donned the number 21 for the first time in decades to honor the late Latin-American legend. The RBR crew gives their thoughts on the reception of Roberto Clemente Day league wide, and forecast major changes coming to the annual honor.

As beautiful as the pregame celebration was, on the diamond the Pirates did not show up Wednesday, dropping the second game of the series 8-1, taking them into a weekend series with Kansas City.

The Royals, battling the Pirates as two of the worst teams in baseball, took a first inning lead in game one and never looked back. They outscored the Pirates over the weekend 22-7, after a convincing 11-0 win in Sunday’s series finale. Yes, there are still positives to take from this series, yes they come from the glove of Ke’Bryan Hayes.
