All of us here at Rum Bunter want to wish all fans of the Pittsburgh Pirates far and wide a very happy and Merry Christmas!

No Lanny Frattare pun intended here, there was no doubt about it; 2020 was a year unlike any other. In the year that has passed since people last congregated to celebrate the holidays, a lot has changed in our country and our world. This includes with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

2020 was a year of change for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Ben Cherington became the team’s general manager, Derek Shelton became manager and Ke’Bryan Hayes appeared to emerge as the new face of the franchise.

There was a lot of difficulty to go around in 2020, and that is what made this holiday season mayeb even more special than any that has come before. If there was ever a year that people needed a holiday season to spend with their loved ones it was 2020.

As for what Santa Claus can bring the Pittsburgh Pirates for Christmas, there is certainly a lot on that list. The Pirates could use starting pitching, bullpen, outfield, and middle infield help for 2020. But most of all, the Pirates are asking for more young talent to supplement an already strong farm systems. This is a gift they should get, assuming players such as Joe Musgrove and Adam Frazier are indeed traded before Opening Day. The international signing period in January should also benefit the farm system.

Hopefully, Santa Claus has been good to all of you this Christmas season. Maybe even with some Pirate gear and goodies.

To our Jewish friends and readers out there, we hope you all had a great Hanukkah. If you celebrate Kwanzaa or any other holiday, we wish you and your family all the best as well.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays, Pittsburgh Pirates fans!
