The Pittsburgh Pirates have assembled one of the best, fastest rising farm systems in baseball. This highly touted farm system includes plenty of potential breakout candidates for the 2021 season.

Ben Cherington and the Pittsburgh Pirates have done a terrific job of acquiring young talent for their farm system. The Pirate farm system has become the 4th best in baseball, according to FanGraphs. So, it goes without saying that the Pirate farm system includes plenty of highly touted young prospects.

Despite having a highly touted farm system, there are undoubtedly prospect that are property of the Pittsburgh Pirates that do not receive the recognition they deserve. Perhaps, they are players that fans do not know as well as they should

During every MLB season each team around the league has prospects that breakout. This is something that baseball fans were robbed of in 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic leading to the canceling of the minor league system.

With minor league baseball set to return, here are three potential breakout prospects for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2021. These three prospects are certainly ones that Pirate fans should be watching closely during the upcoming season.
