With the start of Spring Training, hopefully, less than a month away, the Pittsburgh Pirates still have roster spots to fill. There are four low risk, potential high reward free agents still available the Pirates could pursue to fill these spots.

While the trade market has been very active, the free agent market has been pretty slow this off season. Top free agents such as center fielder George Springer, catcher JT Realmuto, starting pitcher Trevor Bauer, outfielder Marcell Ozuna and shortstop Andrelton Simmons remain without teams. This could leave many free agents that are looking for bounceback seasons on lower cost contracts waiting for a while.

This is where the Pittsburgh Pirates could capitalize on some lower cost free agents. Today, let’s take a look at four free agents the Pirates should look into that are low risk high reward players. These players have the potential to have bounce back campaigns in 2021 while remaining relatively cheap in terms of contract price.

If the Pirates were to sign any of these players and they would indeed bounce back, that would be a win/win scenario for the Bucs. Not only could it help them win baseball games in 2021, it could also give them some quality trade options come July.
