At this point you may as well rename Rum Bunter a Jameson Taillon blog. Earlier in the day we discussed that the Pittsburgh Pirates were facing a dilemma on what to do with Taillon. Then the Tampa Bay Rays were kicking the tires on Taillon.

Shortly after the news on the Rays kicking the tires on Taillon, more news broke. Mark Feinsand of MLB.com and Adam Berry, also of MLB.com, reported that all signs pointed toward Taillon being the next player the Pittsburgh Pirates trade.

Now, the Taillon trade market is continuing to heat up. Sources have confirmed to Rum Bunter that the Pittsburgh Pirates have multiple offers they like on the table for Taillon. Also, the New York Yankees are the team most aggressively pursuing Taillon.

The heating up Taillon trade market has also been reported by Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Jon Heyman of the MLB Network.

When it comes to a potential Taillon trade the Yankees are a team that makes a lot of sense. The top of the Yankee rotation is set with ex-Priate Gerrit Cole and Corey Kluber. Lefty Jordan Montgomery, as well as righty Domingo German.

The Yankees will, eventually, have Luis Severino too, but he is still working his way back from Tommy John surgery. Top prospect Deivi Garcia could factor in, too. What the Yankees need more than anything is a solid middle of the rotation arm, when he is at his best Taillon is this and then some.

Additionally, Taillon is good friends with Cole and the duo works out together. Due to this, the Yankees may know better than most teams how Taillon’s recovery is coming along and where he is at.

Even if it is not the Yankees, all signs point toward a Taillon trade happening sooner rather than later.
