With voting set to end at 2 PM this afternoon, Pittsburgh Pirates second baseman Adam Frazier continues to lead in All-Star voting
So far this season Adam Frazier has not been just one of the best hitters for the Pittsburgh Pirates, but also one of the best hitters in the National League. Due to this Frazier has earned the right to be a National League All-Star in 2021.
While fans of the Pittsburgh Pirates know that Frazier has earned this right, it appears that many fans around baseball are aware of this as well. With voting for the 2021 MLB All-Star Game set to end at 2 PM ET on Thursday afternoon, Frazier continues to be the leading vote getter for National League second basemen.
Entering voting on Wednesday Frazier held a comfortable lead in voting. Frazier had collected 45% of the votes for National League second basemen while Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies was second to Frazier with 34% of the vote.
With voting set to end soon this gives Frazier a comfortable lead in voting. It appears not just possible, but likely, that Frazier could be voted into the 2021 MLB All-Star Game as the starting second baseman for the National League.
Through his first 341 plate appearances this season Frazier has already collected 100 hits. He is hitting for a .327/.395/.471 slash line to go with a healthy 142 wRC+. He’s walking at a career-high 8.5% rate, while striking out at a career-low 11.1% rate.
The All-Star weekend will already be a big one for the Pittsburgh Pirates. This is due to a pair of pitching prospects being selected to participate in the Future’s Game. If Frazier starting in the All-Star Game could be added to the festivities it would make it even better for the Pirates.
