Ke’Bryan Hayes starts to bounce back
As Noah covered on the site over the weekend third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes has been struggling for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Against the Reds, however, Hayes appeared to be starting to break out of his doldrums.
Hayes went 0-for-4 in the series opener on Thursday night. This was despite him having the hardest hit ball of anyone in the game. Following his 0-for-4 outings on Thursday night Hayes caught fire the rest of the series.
In the final three games of the series Hayes was 5-for-11 with a double, a home run and a walk. During the series Hayes appeared to be more comfortable at the plate and he drove the ball with authority the other way which has always been a sign of things going well for Hayes.
Hopefully this series will prove to be one that started to get Hayes back on track. The Pittsburgh Pirates want to see Hayes finish the season strong, let’s hope this series was the start of that for the team’s young third baseman.
