The Fort returns to Rum Bunter Radio to talk all things Pittsburgh Pirates

In this episode the guys are back to break down the 2021 season and preview what’s to come as they are joined by friend of the podcast, former Pittsburgh Pirates catcher and AT&T Sports Net broadcaster Michael McKenry.

The show begins with a discussion on the 2021 season and where things are headed after year two of the Pittsburgh Pirates rebuild. Has Ben Cherington succeeded to this point through his trades, signings and draft picks?

Time will only answer questions like that, but as for the immediate Pirates, what is to make of this whacky, unfortunate 2021? Well it’s not to say plenty of unique and “feel-good” storylines didn’t make their way to the fans.

Some of these storylines, such as Yoshi Tsutsugo, have created discussions on the future, and how the Pirates plan to spend their money this offseason. Will Bryan Reynolds ever be given the contract extension he deserves?

Just as quickly as the rule changes came last season, the complaints came with them. In December the players union will meet with the owners, and will try to find some form of civility in modifying, creating and changing the current rules of the game.

What will this look like? Do we see all of the rule changes from the temporary season hold up? The Fort provides his analysis, and offers some revolutionary ideas for the game of baseball.
