Even though there is currently a transaction freeze across Major League Baseball due to the work stoppage when it ends these players could still be traded by the Pittsburgh Pirates

Right now Major League Baseball teams can not make any trades, Major League free agent signings, or remove players from their 40-man rosters in any fashion. This is due to MLB’s work stoppage. Due to this, the Pittsburgh Pirates, along with the rest of baseball, can not make any roster moves other than minor league signings.

Prior to the work stoppage beginning the Pittsburgh Pirates had been active in the early stages of the offseason. They signed free agents José Quintana and Roberto Peréz, as well as re-signing first baseman/corner outfielder/designated hitter Yoshi Tsutsugo. The team also traded catcher Jacob Stallings to the Miami Marlins.

When the work stoppage ends the Pittsburgh Pirates may not be done with trades yet. These three players are all candidates to still be traded by the Pirates when the Major League Baseball work stoppage comes to an end.
