Pittsburgh Pirates: Outfield Options for 2022 Season

While the outfield was an issue for the Pittsburgh Pirates during the 2021 season they should have plenty of options for the outfield next season

With Major League Baseball entrenched in a work stoppage fans are stuck looking ahead to the 2022 season, instead of discussing the fallout from the Winter Meetings, trades, free agent signings, etc. that is the norm to be discussed this time of year. This certainly includes fans of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Looking ahead to 2022 one area where the Pittsburgh Pirates will need to improve from the the 2021 season is the outfield. During the 2021 season the Pirate outfield was ravaged by injuries and poor performance.

Entering the 2022 season the Pittsburgh Pirates will have plenty of options to try and improve the outfield performance from last season. This will include some potential young building blocks for the long-term future.

The makeup of the outfield could also change before the start of the 2022 season. With that said, let’s dive into examining the outfield options for the Pirates entering the 2022 season.
