When MLB’s work stoppage ends and the Rule 5 Draft takes place the Pittsburgh Pirates could be in danger of losing these two prospects

For those who are unaware, when MLB’s work stoppage ends the major league portion of the rule 5 Draft will still take place. As Noah looked at earlier this week, whenever this takes place it will give the Pittsburgh Pirates a no-risk opportunity to add talent to their roster.

Even though the major league portion of the Rule 5 Draft is currently on hold due to the work stoppage the minor league portion of the Rule 5 Draft did take place last week. In the minor league portion of the draft the Pittsburgh Pirates added three players to their minor league system, while also losing three players from the system. You can read more about all of that here.

Earlier this week Noah identified Mason Martin as a prospect the Pirates left unprotected but are unlikely to lose in the Rule 5 Draft. On the contrary, I discussed the reasons why the Pirates are in danger of losing Tahnaj Thomas in the draft.

Today we will take a look at two more prospects the Pittsburgh Pirates are in danger of losing in the Rule 5 Draft. Unfortunately, when you have a farm system as deep as the Pirates protecting all your talent, and close to MLB ready prospects, is a very tall order.
