When the 2022 MLB season begins these three starting pitchers could be in line for a breakout season with the Pittsburgh Pirates

One of the biggest needs for the Pittsburgh Pirates during the 2022 season will be starting pitching. Not only will the team be looking for starting pitchers who can help the team win in 2022, they will also be looking to find starting pitchers who can be parts of their rotation long-term.

While each of the these three starting pitchers made starts for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2021, 2022 will be the first opportunity each has truly had to breakout in a MLB starting rotation. Not only can each of these three pitchers help the Pirates win games in 2022, they can also help the team by being potential long-term building blocks for the team’s starting rotation.

The Pittsburgh Pirates had one of the worst starting rotations in baseball last season but, long-term, the rotation should improve simply with the influx of pitching prospects the organization has. During the 2022 season fans should begin to see some of these young pitchers begin to solidify their spots as long-term rotation building block for the Pirates.
