RHP Pitterson Rosa

The Pittsburgh Pirates signed Pitterson Rosa out of the Dominican Republic at just 17-years-old. He was the third most expensive international signing for the Bucs this year as he was given $500,000, with only De Los Santos and Blanco Jr. received more this year.

The right-hander projects as a starting pitcher long term. Standing at 6’2, 178 pounds, Rosa is already hitting 94 MPH with his four-seamer. He’s also shown that he can command his secondary offerings well. He’s already shown some refinement to all of his offerings, which is quite impressive as he is a converted outfielder.

Given that Rosa played the outfield, he also brings athleticism to the mound. That’s something many evaluators like to see in young pitching prospects. Not only does he bring that, but he also brings a quality pitch mix. He’s pretty advanced for his age and should rise throughout the rankings over the course of the next few years.
