The Pittsburgh Pirates are officially getting their 2022 season started with Spring Training Camps opening.  Two players seem to be looking forward to the season.

Over the next couple of weeks, there will be plenty to follow with the Pittsburgh Pirates and the other 31 Major League Baseball teams.  While free agency and trades still shake out there will also be other news and notes that pop up throughout the next month.  This includes internal changes like number changes, player options, and scouting notes.

First and foremost we already have one of our first relevant uniform number changes.  Last year, Yoshi Tsutsugo was acquired late in the season from the Los Angeles Dodgers.  The Pittsburgh Pirates were able to give Tsutsugo a chance to play every day and he put together a decent end of the year which earned him a new contract with the Bucs.

After being acquired Tsutsugo wore number 32 with the Pittsburgh Pirates.  According to Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Tsutsugo will be wearing a new number this year.  Persak tweeted that the power hitter is listed on the roster with uniform number 25.  Expect some other uniform number changes to come along.

Also seeing players show up to camp is always something that is popular.  This is more true in the NFL, if you are a Steelers fan then you know some of the dramatic entrances players can have.  It is always cool to see players show excitement about being back for a new season.

Michale Chavis did just this yesterday.  The Pittsburgh Pirates Twitter team put out a post showing Chavis showing up to camp.  Chavis looks to be full of energy and ready to get started.  He was acquired last season at the Deadline from the Boston Red Sox.  This year with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chavis will have a chance to build on a strong end of the year with the Pittsburgh Pirates Organization.
