Rum Bunter co-editor Marty Leap takes his crack at making predictions for the 2022 edition of the Pittsburgh Pirates

The 2022 Major League Baseball season is nearly upon us. As the old saying goes hope springs eternal. While there may not be much hope among fans of the Pittsburgh Pirates this season there will still be plenty to look forward to for Pirate fans.

While the team appears to be one their way to their fourth consecutive losing season this one is a bit different from the previous three. That is because as the season progresses fans should see key piece of the future start to became regulars and make a large impact for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Players such as David Bednar, Ke’Bryan Hayes and Bryan Reynolds are already in place, and multiple highly touted prospects should be joining them as mainstays on the Pirate roster this season. So as well continue our Rum Bunter staff previews for the 2022 season today I will look into my crystal ball and attempt to make some predictions for the 2022 edition of the Pittsburgh Baseball Club.
