A bounce back night for High-A Greensboro
One night after being blowout 17-1, the High-A Greensboro Grasshoppers bounced back with a 3-1 victory over the Rome Braves. With this victory the Grasshoppers have improved to 7-10 on the season.
Domingo Gonzalez started for the Grasshoppers and turned in an overall strong start. In 3.2 scoreless innings pitched he allowed 2 hits and struck out 5, however, he did battled with his control, issuing 5 walks.
Jack Carey followed Gonzalez. Carey allowed 2 hits, did not walk a batter and struck out 3 in 3.1 scoreless innings pitched. Tyler Samaniego allowed an unearned run in his 1 pitched, he also walked 3 batters while striking out 3. Cam Junker then closed the game out, allowing a hit, a walk and striking a batter out in the 9th inning.
Abrahan Gutierrez started at first base for the Grasshoppers, going 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Henry Davis started at designated hitter going 2-for-4 wit ha RBI, while Matt Gorski and Dariel Lopez each hit a double. Lopez also drove in a run for the Grasshoppers.
