Double-A Altoona rolls to victory

The Altoona Curve improved to 20-21 on the season with a 7-1 victory over the Harrisburg Senators. Carmen Mlodzinski started for Altoona, allowing a run on 5 hits, no walks and 5 strikeouts in 3.2 innings pitched.

Will Kobos followed Mlodzinski, pitching 1.1 scoreless innings. Kobos did not allow a hit, walked a batter and struck out 3. Bear Bellomy was next, striking a batter out in 2 scoreless innings pitched.  J.C. Flowers then closed things out by striking out a pair and allowing a hit in the 9th inning. On the season, Flowers now owns a 3.18 ERA in 28.1 innings pitched.

Starting at designated hitter Liover Peguero had a big game for the Curve offense. Peguero was 2-for-3 with a walk and a pair of doubles, giving him 14 doubles on the season. Nick Gonzales and Matt Fraizer were both 1-for-5 and Fraizer drove in a run.

In his second game at Double-A, Matt Gorski was 1-for-4 with a walk. Tucupita Marcano had a base hit in his lone trip to the plate, and Jared Triolo was 1-for-3 with his 6th double of the season, a walk and a RBI.

Center fielder Connor Scott also had a big game. Scott was 2-for-4 with his 8th double of the season and a run scored. This outing raised his OPS on the season to .791. Catcher Blake Sabol was 2-for-5 with a double and 2 RBI.
