Pittsburgh Pirates Prospects: Minor League Teams Swept on Tuesday Night

Bradenton Marauders also suffer a 1-run loss

Low-A Bradenton was the third team to suffer a 1-run loss in the Pittsburgh Pirates farm system on Tuesday night. Following a 2-1 loss against the Lakeland Flying Tigers they are now 20-26 on the season.

At the top of Bradenton’s lineup center fielder Sergio Campana was 0-for-2 with a pair of walks. Brenden Dixon and Rodolfo Nolasco went a combined 0-for-8 behind Campana, while clean up hitter Jase Bowen was just 1-for-4.

Alexander Mojica was 0-for-3 with the low Marauder RBI. Designated hitter Juan Jerez and catcher Grant Koch each had a hit for the Marauders as well, while shortstop Deivis Nadal was 2-for-3. Getting base runners was not a big issue for the Marauders, but going 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position was.

Valentin Linarez started for the Marauders turning in a strong start. He allowed just 2 runs on 8 hits, a walk, and 6 strikeouts in 6 innings pitched. Sergio Umana followed allowing 2 hits, but he struck out the side in the 7th inning. In his season debut Joe Jacques struck out 2 batters in a 1-2-3 8th inning.
