Triple-A Indianapolis suffered a loss and more in Saturday’s Pittsburgh Pirates minor league roundup
Following a 7-6 loss against the Omaha Storm Chasers on Saturday night, the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians are now 26-26 on the season. The Pittsburgh Pirates top prospect, Oneil Cruz, bat leadoff of the Indians and played left field, going 2-for-4 with his 8th home run of the season. Canaan Smith-Njigba was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Starting in left field Ji-Hwan Bae was 1-for-3 with a walk. Bligh Madras stayed hot going 2-for-4 with his 5th home run of the season, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Utility man Hoy Park went 1-for-3 with ah one run and 3 RBI.
Zach Matson started for the Indians as an opener, allowing 2 runs on a home run and 4 hits in 2 innings pitched. Blake Weiman followed with a hit, a walk and 3 strikeouts in 3 scoreless innings pitched.
