Greensboro Grasshoppers suffer a loss

The High-A Greensboro Grasshoppers suffered a 5-2 loss against the Wilmington Blue Rocks on Saturday. With the loss, the High-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates are now a porous 21-28 on the season.

Dariel Lopez went 1-for-3 with his 6th double of the season and a walk in the loss. Abrahan Gutierrez started at first base and went 2-for-4 with his 4th home run of the season, a run scored and 2 RBI. The rest of the Grasshopper lineup was 3-for-26 at the plate.

On the mound, Nick Garcia started for the Grasshoppers. Garcia allowed 1 run on a solo home run, 4 hits, a walk and 5 strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched. On the season Garcia now owns a 3.79 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 40.1 innings pitched.

Righty Jack Carey took the loss for the Grasshoppers, allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, on 2 hits, a walk, and no strikeouts in 2,2 innings pitched. Michell Miliano followed Carey, allowing a run on 2 hits and a strikeout in his inning pitched.
