Schedule in the next week sets up for the Pittsburgh Pirates to stay hot

Following an off day on Monday the Pirates will welcome the Detroit Tigers to PNC Park for a brief two-game series. The Tigers are 21-33 on the season and the Pirates should have a legitimate chance to sweep the Tigers.

After that the Bucs travel to Atlanta to play the defending World Series Champion Braves. That said, the Braves are off to a slow start owning a 27-27 record on the season. If the Pirates can sweep the Tigers and split their series with the Braves, which seems very doable considering Contreras, Brubaker, and Thompson will get three of the four starts in Atlanta, that would be another very successful week for the Pirates.

Even if the Pirates are not as successful in the win/loss column this week you still want to see the young guys perform. This includes some unmentioned bullpen arms, such as Wil Crowe and Duane Underwood Jr., who appear to be blossoming into potential long-term building blocks as high-leverage situation options.
