Altoona Curve suffer a 4-2 loss
Following a 4-2 loss against the Erie SeaWolves, the Double-A Altoona Curve are now 29-31 on the season. Luis Ortiz started for the Curve, and allowed all 4 runs that the SeaWolves scored. Ortiz pitched 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits, 2 walks, a home run and 2 strikeouts.
A pair of relievers pitched extremely well out of the Curve bullpen in relief of Ortiz. Will Kobos allowed a hit and walked a pair, but still pitched 2/3 of a scoreless inning. Omar Cruz then allowed a hit and struck out a pair in 2.1 scoreless innings pitched.
Offensively, it was a very poor night for the Curve. Despite drawing 5 walks, Altoona batters were just 4-for-31 with 7 strikeouts. They left 15 runners on base and went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
2021 no. 1 overall draft pick Henry Davis was 1-for-5 with his 1st double at the Double-A level and he scored a run. Blake Sabol was 1-for-3 with a walk and Jared Triolo was 0-for-3 with a walk. Matt Gorksi had a rare poor game going 0-for-4, Liover Peguero was 1-for-4 and Lolo Sanchez was 1-for-3 with a walk.
