Kicking things off in Wednesday’s Pittsburgh Pirates minor league roundup is a shutout victory for the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians

The top farm club of the Pittsburgh Pirates took home a 2-0 shutout victory on Wednesday. With the win the Indianapolis Indians improved to 34-32 on the season.

Josh VanMeter made another rehab appearance with the Indians. He served as the team’s designated hitter and bat leadoff, going 1-for-4. Center fielder Travis Swaggerty was 1-for-4 and shortstop Rodolfo Castro was 1-for-3.

Jared Oliva, who went 1-for-3, and Jamie Ritchie, who went 1-for-2 with a walk, scored the two Indian runs. Both runs were driven in on a double by third baseman Josh Bissonette, this was the 5th double of the season for Bissonette.

Osvaldo Bido started for the Indians and pitched 4 strong innings. He allowed a hit, walked 3 and struck out 4 in his 4 scoreless innings pitched. Joe Jacques, Zach Matson, Hunter Stratton and Austin Brice combined to strikeout 4 batters in a combined 5 scoreless innings pitched.
