Leading off for the minor league affiliates of the Pittsburgh Pirates was a loss for the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians on Thursday night
Triple-A Indianapolis suffered a 4-3 loss against the Memphis Redbirds on Thursday night. With the loss, the top farm club of the Pittsburgh Pirates is now 34-33 on the season, as they sit just one game over .500.
Making his second rehab start with the Indians, Yoshi Tsutsguo was 3-for-3 with a walk. Fellow rehab stint participate Kevin Newman was 1-for-4. Catcher Carter Bins was 1-for-3 with a walk and a double, while Travis Swaggerty was 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, a run scored, and a RBI. designated hitter Jason Delay also drove in a run.
Miguel Yajure started for Indy, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, a walk and a strikeout in 1.1 innings pitched. Cody Bolton then followed Yajure. Bolton pitched 2.1 innings, allowing an unearned run on 2 hits, 5 walks and no strikeouts.
Next up out of the Indianapolis bullpen were two pitchers making their Indy Indians debut. First up was Pittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect Noe Toribio. In his first outing at the Triple-A level, Toribio walked a pair but did not allow a hit in 1.1 scoreless innings pitched.
After Toribio the recently acquired Eric Stout made his Pirate system debut. In his first outing with the Indy Indians the lefty walked a batter and struck out a batter in a scoreless inning pitched out of the bullpen.
