Greensboro Grasshoppers suffer a tough loss
The High-A Greensboro Grasshoppers suffered a 3-1 loss to the Asheville Tourists on Thursday night. With the loss, the Grasshoppers fell to a woeful 27-38 on the season.
Nick Garcia started for the Grasshoppers and turned in a strong start. Garcia allowed a run on a walk, 6 hits, and 2 strikeouts in 6 innings pitched. With this outing Garcia lowered his ERA on the season to 3.12.
Ricky DeVito followed, allowing a run on a hit, walk, and a strikeout in 2/3 of an inning pitched. Denny Roman followed DeVtio. Roman allowed a run on a hit, a walk, and 3 strikeouts in 2.1 innings pitched.
Offensively, leadoff man Sammy Siani was 0-for-4 for the Grasshoppers. Designated hitter Endy Rodriguez and catcher Abrahan Gutierrez were both 0-for-4. Second baseman Dariel Lopez and third baseman Jackson Glenn each had a hit as well.
