
Poor 9th inning leads to Bradenton being blown out
The Low-A Bradenton Marauders were trailing 6-4 entering the 9th inning on Tuesday night. After allowing 4 more runs in the 9th inning, the Marauders were defeated 10-4 by the Tampa Tarpons to fall to 31-38 on the season.
Mike Jarvis bat leadoff for the Marauders. The third baseman was 2-for-5 with his 9th double of the season and a run scored. Tsung-Che Cheng was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks, a run scored and a RBI.
Left fielder Rodolfo Nolasco was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Grant Koch started at catcher going 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and 2 RBI. Koch also hit his 1st home run with the Marauders this season.
Pitching was problematic for the Marauders. Valentin Linarez started for Bradenton. Linarez allowed 5 runs on 4 hits, 3 walks, a home run and 2 strikeouts in 3 innings pitched. In 13 games, 10 starts, Linarez now owns a 5.80 ERA this season.
Johan Montero pitched well in relief, allowing a run and striking out 3 in 3 innings pitched. Jack Hartman allowed a hit and struck out a pair in the 7th inning. This was a much needed strong outing from Hartman.
After Yunior Thibo pitched a scoreless 8th inning, he took the mound ot start the 9th inning. Thibo failed to complete the 9th inning as Darvin Garcia, who walked a batter and recorded a strikeout, had to get the final out of the inning. In 1.2 innings pitched, Thibo allowed 4 runs on 5 hits, a walk and a home run.
