Walk off victory for Bradenton
Wednesday afternoon saw the Low-A Bradenton Marauders get back to .500 on the season at 41-41. The Marauders did so by picking up a 5-4 walk off victory over the Jupiter Hammerheads in 10 innings.
After the Hammerheads took a 4-3 lead in the top of the 10th inning, the Marauders would quickly rally in the bottom half of the inning. After Jase Bowen struck out to start the inning, a Deivis Nadal walk was followed by a run-scoring single by Rodolfo Nolasco to tie the game at 4. Juan Jerez then singled home Nadal to walk it off for the Marauders.
While he struck out to start the 10th, Bowen still had a strong game going 2-for-5 with a run scored. Nolasco had another RBI in addition to his key 10th inning hit, and Jere’z walk off hit was part of a 3-for-4 game. Jerez also drew a walk.
Joelvis Del Rosario started for the Marauders. While Del Rosario has pitched well for most of the season, he struggled some on Thursday allowing 3 runs on a home run and a pair of walks in 3 innings pitched. Despite this outing, his ERA on the season is still a strong 3.61.
Sergio Umana followed Del Rosario, striking out four batters in 3 scoreless innings pitched. Jack Hartmann pitched a scoreless 7th inning and Johan Montero pitched a pair of scoreless innings. Wilkin Ramos pitched the top of the 10th, striking out a pair.
