Jack Suwinski hits two home runs and more in Friday night’s Pittsburgh Pirates minor league round up

Leading off Friday night’s Pittsburgh Pirates minor league roundup is the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians. The Indians suffered a 9-8 loss against the St. Paul Saints in 10 innings on Friday, falling to 41-47 on the season.

Jack Suwinski, who led all National League rookies in home runs with 14 before being optioned to the minors in order to manipulate his service time and prevent him from accruing a full season of service time, had a multi-home run game for the Indians. Suwinski was 2-for-4 with a walk, two home runs, three RBI, and two runs scored.

Tucupita Marcano started at second base, batting leadoff for the Indians going 1-for-5 with a RBI, a double and a run scored. Shortstop Rodolfo Castro went 2-for-5, and center fielder Ji-Hwan Bae, who continues to push for a MLB promotion, was 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. Catcher Carter BIsn was 2-for-3 with a walk and a pair of doubles.

Zach Matson served as Indy’s opener, allowing an unearned run on a hit, a walk and a strikeout in an inning pitched. Travsi MacGregor allowed 6 runs, 5 eanred, on four hits, a walk, a home run, and three strikeouts in 2 innings pitched.

Noe Toribio allowed a hit, did nto walk a batter and struck out six in 3 scoreless innings pitched. John O’Reilly allowed a run in his inning pitched, and Austin Brice pitched 2 innings allowing an unearned run.
