Pirates vs. Mets Rain Delay, May 14: Details, Weather Updates, Start Time

While taking a series against the Braves gave hope that changing managers would get the Pittsburgh Pirates back on track, but this Pirates team has their work cut out for them. They have lost eight of their last 10 games and desperately need to put together a run here soon or the 2025 season could be lost before the month of June (if it isn't already). Unfortunately, some rough weather rolling over Citi Field is conspiring against that plan.

After a stellar start from Paul Skenes, the Mets were able to get to the Pirates' bullpen and ultimately come from behind and win on Monday and Pittsburgh lost a tight game on Tuesday with Mitch Keller on the mound. For the series finale, the Pirates will turn to Bailey Falter to try and salvage the series, but Mother Nature has other plans as we are officially in a rain delay, although it does seems like it will be a short one (we hope).

Pirates vs. Mets Rain Delay, 5/14: When is the game supposed to start?

Obviously it is not great that there is a delay, but it does seem like every effort will go into getting this game played tonight. The forecast is not ideal, but the storms coming through the area seem to dissipate as we go into the evening a bit and the Mets seems to think that a short delay is all that will be required. Assuming that the field holds up and isn't a complete mess, fans can probably plan on this game happening. The radar does have a pretty big blob of rain coming through, so this might not be a particularly quick delay, though, if the weather turns.

Assuming this game does get in, Pittsburgh fans just need hope that things change under Don Kelly. Falter has been quite good his last two starts which gives hope that the Pirates can escape New York without getting swept.

We will keep this post updated as this delay develops and more information about what the weather is doing and when the game starts becomes available. Get comfortable, because it does seem like they are going to try to play this game even if we have to wait a bit.
