Tuesday was an exciting day for Pittsburgh Pirates fans as the Buccos picked up their first win of the spring over the Atlanta Braves and it was announced that top prospect Paul Skenes will make his Grapefruit League debut on Thursday.

AROUND THE LEAGUE

Out in Arizona, Shohei Ohtani in his Los Angeles Dodgers debut went opposite field for a two-run home run.

A lot of eyes will be on the development of Toronto Blue Jays starter Alek Manoah this spring. After struggling mightily in 2023 with a 5.87 ERA in 19 starts, the Blue Jays will hope the former All-Star can get back to the pitcher he was for the club in 2021 and 2022. His first start of the spring on Tuesday, however, did not go well, allowing four earned runs on three hits, a walk, and three hit by pitches in less than two innings of work.

This spring, the new MLB uniforms from Nike have been a hot topic of discussion due to smaller name plates, see through pants, and more. That being said, it appears the Kansas City Royals were not a fan of the new jerseys and according to Uni Watch's Paul Lukas, the Royals lobbied to use the former lettering size on their jersey's and permission was granted to do so.
