Kyle Nicolas has now graduated from being a prospect, which has opened up a spot in the Pirates' top 30 prospects. MLB Pipeline decided to add infielder Charles McAdoo to the list. McAdoo is now the 30th-ranked prospect for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

McAdoo was the Pirates' 13th-round selection in the 2023 Major League Draft. He was selected out of San Jose State and quickly got started in the Pirates' minor leagues, joining the Pirates' Low-A affiliate, Bradenton, and got off to a hot start. In 28 games with the Marauders, McAdoo posted a .302 batting average with five home runs and 24 runs batted in. He also had an OPS of .922, which includes an on-base percentage of .412 and a slugging percentage of .510. His wRC+ was great at 151, and his walk percentage was an excellent 14.9%.

After a very great start to his professional career, McAdoo got back to work and has been just as good in 2024. Through 43 games, McAdoo has a batting average of .331 with six home runs and 37 runs batted in. He also has an OPS of .943, which includes an on-base percentage of .405 and a slugging percentage of .538. His wRC+ is very impressive at 164, but his walk percentage has dropped to 9.7%.

He has shown a strong bat so far, but that is not all he can do. McAdoo has been a great defender in the outfield and at third base this season. He also has displayed a solid arm as he has two outfield assists from right field. To top that off, he has stolen 10 bases this season. He may not be the five-tool player we see in Ronald Acuna Jr. or Mike Trout, but he is showing value with the bat, the glove, and on the bases.

This start to McAdoo's professional career is very impressive, and it could result in a promotion to Double-A Altoona very soon. Let's see if he stays consistent and moves up through the Pirates' prospect rankings.
