Infielder Yordany De Los Santos
The next off-season was arguably the biggest international period for the Pirates. One of their biggest signings was infielder Yordany De Los Santos. De Los Santos did well at the FCL, posting a 126 wRC+, which earned him a promotion to Low-A Bradenton.
But the young infielder struggled down the line and had just a 72 wRC+ after the move. De Los Santos has plus power potential, and could be a solid fielding shortstop. He has a strong enough arm to play both positions on the left side of the infield. There is some risk as to whether or not he’ll stick at shortstop, and if he can properly develop his hit tool, but he could be a .250 hitter in the future who regularly delivers 25-30 home runs at short.
