Pittsburgh Pirates City Connect gear available now
The Pittsburgh Pirates have dropped their City Connect jerseys, shirts, hats and more. Here are some of our favorite items that are available right now.
The Pittsburgh Pirates have revealed their new City Connect uniforms, which look amazing and are filled with winks and nods to the past, present and future of the Steel City.
"We anchored in this idea, this transition this city is going through, an evolution," Pirates executive vice president of marketing and fan engagement Stephen Perkins said to ESPN. "While the steel industry is here, this city is becoming a technology center."
Fans will notice the PGH on the front of the uniform is similar to that of the bridges in Pittsburgh, with each letter containing a texture found on the Roberto Clemente Bridge.
You'll likely also notice the three rivers design, paying tribute to the Allegheny, Ohio and Monongahela rivers.
While many other teams opted to add new colors to their rotation, the Pirates wanted to stay true to the black and gold of the city. After all, each Pittsburgh pro team wears the same colors.
