Offensive explosion carries High-A Greensboro

An offensive explosion and excellent bullpen work carried the High-A Greensboro Grasshoppers to victory on Saturday. The Grasshoppers defeated the Winston-Salem Dash 12-2 to improve to 37-29 on the season.

Bubba Chandler started for the Grasshoppers and allowed just 2 runs. However, those 2 runs came on five hits, a walk, and four strikeouts in just 3.2 innings pitched. His ERA this season still sits at an ugly 6.33.

Logan Hogmann followed Chandler, allowing two hits, issuing a walk, and striking a batter out in 2 scoreless innings pitched. Jack Carey struck a batter out in 1.1 scoreless innings pitched, Michell Miliano and Santiago Florez each pitched a scoreless inning as well.

At the top of the lineup Tres Gonzalez went 1-for-5 with a double and a run scored. Mike Jarvis was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and three runs scored. Brenden Dixon launched his 5th home run of the season while going 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBI.

Sammy Siani was 1-for-4 with a RBI. Third baseman Shawn Ross was 2-for-5, scoring twice and driving in a pair of runs. Shortstop Maikol Escotto went 2-for-4 with a triple, three RBI, and two runs scored.
