2-run 5th inning carries Bradenton to a victory

In a well pitched game, the Low-A Bradenton Marauders defeated the Lakeland Flying Tigers 2-1. The victory was powered by a 2-run 5th inning for the Marauders. With the win, Bradenton is now 37-30 on the season.

Alessandro Ercolani started for the Marauders and pitched extremely well. In 6 scoreless innings pitched, Ercolani allowed three hits, walked a batter, and struck out four. Darvin Garcia allowed a run on two hits, a walk, and a strikeout in 1.1 innings pitched. Ryan Harbin continued his strong season by striking out a pair in 1.2 scoreless innings of work. Harbin now owns a 0.91 ERA with 14 walks and 38 strikeouts in 29.2 innings pitched this season.

With two outs in the 5th inning Jesus Castillo drew a walk. After Geovanny Planchart doubled, Enmanuel Terrero ripped a 2-run single to center field. This accounted for the 2 runs the Marauders needed to be victorious.

The 2-run single was the lone hit of the night for Terrero. Jack Brannigan was 1-for-4, as were Planchart and Rodolfo Nolasco who also doubled. Shalin Polanco was 2-for-4 with his 13th double of the season, and Castillo had a pair of singles to go with his walk.
