Colin Selby keeps pitching well, home runs by Jase Bowen and Sammy Siani, and more Pittsburgh Pirates minor league action

Strong pitching carried Triple-A Indianapolis to a 3-1 victory over the St. Paul Saints on Saturday night. With the win, the top farm club of the Pittsburgh Pirates is now 17-20 on the season.

Lefty Kent Emanuel started for Indy and pitched 4 innings. Emanuel allowed a run on four hits, a walk, and four strikeouts. The run that he allowed came on a solo home run. This was a much needed strong outing for Emanuel who has struggled to the tune of an 8.15 ERA this season.

Cody Bolton followed Emanuel. While Bolton allowed a pair of hits and walked a batter, he still pitched a scoreless 5th inning. Eli Villalobos pitched a scoreless 6th inning, Angel Perdomo then walked a pair and struck out two in 2 scoreless innings pitched.

Colin Selby got the ball in the 9th and slammed the door shut. Selby struck out a pair in a 1-2-3 9th inning striking out a pair. Sleby now owns a 3.00 ERA and a 9:19 BB:K ratio in 15 innings pitched this season.

Nick Gonzales went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored at the top of the Indy lineup. Endy Rodriguez was 1-for-2 with a walk, Cal Mitchell was 1-for-2 with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI. Mark Mathais served as designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with a RBI.
