Big 9th inning sparks victory for Low-A Bradenton
For much of the night, the offense struggles for the Low-A Bradenton Marauders. Entering the 9th inning, the Marauders were trailing 1-0. However, a big 9th inning would power the Marauders to a 3-1 victory over the Dunedin Blue Jays to improve to 11-5 on the season.
Dominic Perachi started for the Marauders and pitched 4.1 scoreless innings. Perachi allowed three hits, walked four, and struck out six. In three starts this season Perachi now owns a 4.22 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 10.2 innings pitched.
Julian Bosnic followed Perachi allowing a run on two walks, no hits, and two strikeouts in 2.1 innings pitched. Yunior Thibo pitched 1.1 scoreless innings of his own. Thibo did not allow a hit, walked two, and struck a batter.
With one out in the top of the 9th inning Jesus Castillo singled. Castillo's single was followed by Deivis Nadal being hit by a pitch. Enmanuel Terrero then launched a go-ahead 3-run home run, giving the Marauders a 3-1 lead they would not relinquish.
Mike Walsh was then summoned out of the Marauder bullpen to pich the 9th inning and made quick work of the Blue Jays. Walsh needed 14 pitches to retire Dunedin in order to close out the game.
