Late inning Bradenton rally falls short

The Low-A Bradenton Marauders trailed the Clearwater Threshers 5-0 entering the 7th inning. The Marauders scored at least once in each of the final 3 innings, but their rally fell short in a 5-4 loss. With the loss, the Marauders are now 20-15 on the season.

Owen Kellington started for Bradenton, allowing 3 runs on four hits, two walks, a home run, and seven strikeouts in 3 innings pitched. Joshua Leoschorn recorded two outs while allowing a run on three walks. Darvin Garcia struck out four in 2.1 hitless, scoreless innings pitched.

Julian Bosnic pitched the 7th and 8th inning. Bosnic retired six of the seven batters he faced, did not allow a hit, struck out two, walked a batter, and threw a wild pitch. In 16 innings pitched this season the lefty has walked 13 batters, but he's struck out 23 and owns a 1.69 ERA.

With Bradenton trailing 4-0 in the 7th inning, Nick Cimillo hit a solo home run - his 2nd of the season - to make the score 4-1. After back-to-back walks to start the 8th inning, Termarr Johnson doubled in a pair to make the score 4-3. On the double, however, Johnson was thrown out at third base which proved costly. Later in the inning, Shalin Polanco doubled. A double that would have tied the game had Johnson still been on base.

In the top of the 9th inning Jesus Castillo singled in the tying run for the Marauders. With one out in the bottom of the 9th inning, Yunior Thibo allowed a solo home run to Bryan Rincon. Rincon's home run was a walk off shot in a 5-4 loss for the Marauders.
