Jack Brannigan and Jase Bowen both contributed to a Salt River Rafters victory in Monday night's Arizona Fall League action
Following an off day on Sunday, the Salt River Rafters return to play in the Arizona Fall League on Monday night. The Rafters returned to the field by defeating the Scottsdale Scorpions 7-6 to improve to 3-2 on the season. In the victory, a pair of Pittsburgh Pirates prospects were in the lineup for the Rafter.
Jase Bowen started in right field for the Rafters. Through the first week of AFL action, the right-hnaded hitting Bowen has made starts in right field, center field, first base, and has served as the team's designated hitter.
Monday night, Bowen went 2-for-4 at the plate. Bowen scored a run and drove in a run giving him 6 RBIs already. Thus far, Bowen has been one of the best hitters for Salt River. Bowen is currently hitting .345 with an .884 OPS.
Making yet another start at shortstop, Jack Brannigan went 1-for-4 for the Rafters. Brannigan's hit was a double, his first double of the AFL season, and he scored a run. Hopefully this performance will get Brannigan going at the plate. Currently, he is hitting just .111 with an OPS of .405.
