Another huge Jase Bowen game leads Greensboro to a 1-run victory

Wednesday afternoon the High-A Greensboro Grasshoppers narrowly defeated the Winston-Salem Dash 7-6. With the win, the Grasshoppers are now 46-43 on the season.

First baseman/outfielder Jase Bowen continues his monster season as he keeps pushing for a promotion to Double-A. Bowen went 4-for-5 with his 18th home run of the season and a double to raise his OPS to .854.

Tres Gonzalez was 1-for-5 with a run scored, Sammy Siani was 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored, and Will Matthiessen was 1-for-4 with two RBI. Brenden Dixon and Eli Wilson were both 1-for-3 with a walk and a RBI. Dixon hit his 1st triple of the season and Wilson's hit was his 4th home run.

Thomas Harrington started for Greensboro. The righty allowed 5 runs, 3 earned, on eight hits, a walk, a home run, and four strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched. Harrington threw 51 of 80 pitches for strikes and hit two batters. In 46.2 innings pitched in 10 starts since being promoted to High-A, Harrington owns a 4.82 ERA.

Jake Stevenson followed Harrington and also hit two batters. This led to Stevenson allowing a run despite surrendering just one hit in 1.2 innings pitched. Dante Mendoza closed things out for Greensboro, striking out four in 2 scoreless innings to pick up his 2nd save of the season.
