Pittsburgh Pirates Prospects: Jase Bowen Scores Lone Salt River Run in 7-1 Loss

Jase Bowen scored the lone run for Salt River, while a Pittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect pitched a scoreless inning in Friday night's loss
In Friday night's Arizona Fall League action, the Salt River Rafters fell to the Surprise Saguaros by a score of 7-1. With the loss, the Rafters are now 9-8 through their first 17 games of the AFL season. In the loss, a pair of Pittsburgh Pirates prospects played for the Rafters.
The lone Pirate prospect in the lineup for the Rafters was Jase Bowen. Starting in right field, Bowen went 1-for-4 and scored Salt River's lone run. Bowen is now hitting .367 with a 1.033 OPS during the AFL season thus far.
Lefty Nick Dombkowski pitched the 8th inning for the Rafters. Dombkowski allowed two hits and walked a batter, but pitched a scoreless inning. Dombkowski struck a batter out and threw 12 of his 19 pitches for strikes.
With the scoreless inning of work Dombkowski lowered his AFL ERA to 4.26. In 6.1 innings pitched this fall, Dombkowski has been working around plenty of base runners. He's allowed 11 hits, walked 6 batters, and struck out 8.
