A Kelvin Diaz home run highlighted multiple multi-hit performance for the FCL Pirates in a victory in the lone Pittsburgh Pirates minor league game on Thursday

While Major League Baseball and the rest of the minor leagues will resume play on Friday, the Florida Complex League played on Thursday. This made the FCL Pirates the lone Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate in action on Thursday.

The FCL Pirates defeated the FCL Rays by a score of 6-4. With the win, the FCL Pirates are now 19-7 on the season. Antwone Kelly started for the Pirates, allowing a run on three hits, two walks, and three strikeouts in 3 innings pitched. Kelly now owns a 2.95 ERA in 18.1 innings pitched this season.

Enmanuel De Los Santos allowed a run on two hits in the 4th inning, but he did strike out the side. Jackson Grounds struck a batter out in a 1-2-3 5th inning before Jose Garces took the mound. Garces pitched 3 innings, allowing 2 runs on five hits, a walk, and two strikeouts. Hung-Leng Change pitched a scoreless 9th inning, issuing a walk and striking out a batter.

First baseman Eddy Rodriguez, second baseman Jeral Toledo, and third baseman Kelvin Diaz all had multi-hit games. Rodriguez was 2-for-5 with a RBI, Toledo was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored, and Davis was 2-for-4 with a 2-run home run, his second of the season.

Center field Jhonson Pena was 0-for-2 at the top of the lineup, but he did draw three walks, steal two bases, and score a run. Axiel Plaz was 1-for-5 and left field Jauri Custodio was 1-for-4 with a RBI and two runs scored.
