Early offensive success leads to victory for Bradenton

The Bradenton Marauders scored 2 runs in each of the first 3 innings of the game. After scoring another run in the 4th, the Low-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates were able to roll to a 7-5 victory over the Daytona Tortugas. With the win, the Marauders are now 6-4 on the season.

Right fielder Enmanuel Terrero led the way for the Marauder offense, going 4-for-5 with a triple, two runs scored, and two RBI. Second baseman Jesus Castillo was 1-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored, left fielder Tres Gonzalez drove in a pair of runs, and designated hitter Deivis Nadal had a pair of hits.

Dominic Perachi started for the Marauders and pitched 3 innings. Perachi allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, on seven hits, a walk, and three strikeouts. He was hurt by an Edward Mojica throwing error, hit a batter, and threw 48 of 71 pitches for strikes.

Carlos Lomeli followed Perachi and struck a batter out in 2 perfect innings of relief. Lomeli now has four strikeouts in 5.1 scoreless innings pitched this season. Owen Kellington pitched 2.2 innings, allowing a solo home run, walking two batters, and striking out three. Julian Bosnic pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, walking a batter and striking out four.
